The role of the General Office Based Volunteer is to support the Charity by helping Dogs for the Disabled staff with various administrative tasks. Please note that at the moment this role is only available in our Banbury centre.
Tasks may include one or some of the following:
- Sending out update letters to supporters
- General filing
- General photocopying
- Updating information on Dogs for the Disabled’s Training Database
- Answering the telephone whilst staff are attending the staff meeting
- Greeting and assisting visitors whilst staff are attending the staff meeting
- Helping with preparing and sending out general mail shots to supporters.
Ideally, an office based volunteer should have the following skills / abilities:
- Good organisational skills
- Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
- Good people skills and ability to communicate with people of all ages
- To work well as part of a team with staff and / or other volunteers
- Be tolerant of dogs as dogs in training may be present within the office environment.
