Give your time

The work of Dogs for the Disabled would not be possible without the help of our large team of volunteers.

As a Dogs for the Disabled volunteer you become part of a valued team that makes a real difference to others.  You have the chance to try something different and learn new skills, meet people and make new friendships.

URGENTLY NEEDED: PAWS Temporary Boarder

Do you want to do something worthwhile and would like to have a dog without the financial responsibility?

We are currently looking for a volunteer for our PAWS service to look after a PAWS activity dog.

Our activity dogs, two of which were originally from a rescue centre, have settled in very well and are really enjoying their new role. We hope to find another suitable dog to join our activity dog team in providing parents with a realistic pet dog to demonstrate training techniques in our PAWS workshops.

In order to take on our new recruit we are dependent on a volunteer to care for the dog outside of their use within the PAWS team. This means taking on the dog long term, most weekends and weekdays.  Help, guidance and support is always given and any costs are covered by the charity.

Please help us to make a difference. Click here for more information about the role or call us on 01295 759836.

Volunteering opportunities

If you would like to support us by giving your time and expertise, listed below are some of the volunteering opportunities that may be available with the Charity.

Please bear in mind that the Charity’s volunteer needs change on a regular basis so we cannot guarantee that the opportunities listed above will always be available.

Some of the volunteer roles may require you to undertake a Criminal Records Bureau check and this will be advised at the time of application.

If you are interested in any of the volunteering roles above, please complete the online enquiry form.
