Continuing to promote the importance of dogs in 2012
Times are tough for charities as the whole country feels the economic squeeze. As a charity wholly reliant on voluntary fundraising, Dogs for the Disabled is probably better placed than many to keep growing through difficult times thanks to the tremendous generosity of our numerous supporters. We are reliant on many people to keep our services going (puppy socialisers, donors, fundraisers, to name but a few) and we thank everyone who has helped us in any way whatsoever.

Charity starts at work
Barclaycard, based in Northampton, have the belief that ‘charity begins at work’. Each employee is encouraged to volunteer or fundraise for a charity and their efforts are generously matched by the company.
Dogs for the Disabled has been a beneficiary of this generosity for some years now, with several different teams getting involved with the charity. One such team, Corporate Risk, led by Jayne Turner, took a day out to help the charity with some painting recently.

The future looks bright
My role as Director of Fundraising and Marketing comes with a huge amount of responsibility to our existing and future clients.
Being selected as one of the charities to benefit from the Daily Telegraph Christmas Charity Appeal has given us two fantastic positives; it goes without saying that the money raised will bring significant benefits to the organisation, but perhaps less quantifiable but nevertheless important, is the value of the written word bringing our story to a wider audience.
