Assistance Dogs (UK)

ADUK logoDogs for the Disabled is one of the founding organisations of Assistance Dogs UK (AD(UK)), the umbrella organisation for the registered charities training dogs for disabled people within the United Kingdom. AD(UK) aims to improve access for people who depend on assistance dogs to help them in places such as supermarkets, restaurants, on public transport and in other public places.

The registered charities that currently form AD (UK) are:

      • Dogs for the Disabled
      • Hearing Dogs for Deaf People
      • Guide Dogs for the Blind
      • Support Dogs
      • Canine Partners

Assistance Dogs International

ADI logoDogs for the Disabled is also a fully acredited member of Assistance Dogs International (ADI) a coalition of not-for-profit organisations that train and place Assistance Dogs. Together all the member organisations work to establish and promote standards of excellence in all areas of Assistance Dog training, facilitate communication and learning among member organisations and educate the public to the benefits of Assistance Dogs.

Chief Executive of Dogs for the Disabled, Peter Gorbing is Chair of ADI.
