Newfoundland Water Rescue - be part of it!

Dogs for the Disabled is looking for volunteers happy to jump in with both feet (literally!) for its latest sponsored event to raise valuable funds for the charity.

Newfoundland in actionNewfound Friends uses the remarkable water rescue skills of the Newfoundland Dog to raise money for charities. A dedicated team of lifeguards raises money and awareness by providing water rescue shows – and you could be part of the fun!

Rachel Butler, Trusts Manager at Dogs for the Disabled and water rescue participant, said: “We are thrilled that Newfound Friends have agreed to run this day on our behalf and we look forward to raising a lot of money to help us train more dogs."

"Here at the charity, we are used to seeing remarkable dogs everyday. These trained Newfoundland lifeguards are equally as remarkable, albeit in a very different way, and we are very excited at being able to see them in action and to raise valuable funds in the process. Places are filling fast so anyone interested in reserving a place should get in touch as soon as possible.”

The event is taking place on Sunday 18th July at Watermead Lake in Aylesbury, between 9am and 5pm.

Anyone can take part provided they are capable swimmers, have medical clearance and can get (with help) into and out of a boat. There is a £25 registration fee and you need to commit to raising an additional £75 of sponsorship money.
